Why Do Color Differences Occur in Digital Printing?

There can be small differences between the color you see for a pattern on screen and how that same pattern looks on printed fabric. This isn't an error. It's a natural result of different color systems and surfaces.

The difference between screen (RGB) and print (CMYK)

Screens display color through light (RGB), while printing creates color with ink (CMYK or reactive/disperse dye systems). The color range (gamut) of the two systems doesn't overlap perfectly, so differences can appear between screen and print, especially in bright or neon tones.

How fabric type affects color perception

The same color code can look more vivid on a glossy satin fabric and softer or more muted on a matte cotton fabric. The fabric's absorbency and surface texture directly affect how the ink is perceived.
